Chemical constituents on their wings provide cicadas with water resistance as well and antimicrobial, anti-reflective, and self-cleaning functions. In this study, the wing chemicals of two cicada species were examined using the Pegasus® BT 4D GCxGC-TOFMS system and analyzed through the ChromaTOF® software.
Infection from severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) can lead to severe respiratory tract damage and acute lung injury. Scientists performed untargeted metabolomics analysis using the Pegasus BT 4D GCxGC-TOF-MS on exhaled breath condensate from COVID-19 patients.
Food authentication protects consumers, sellers, and producers from fraud. In this article, scientists discuss new non-destructive methods of food authentication which utilizes LECO Pegasus® BT 4D GCxGC-TOFMS and ChromaTOF® software to enhance cultivar classification.
In this article from The Analytical Scientist (Issue #90, September 2020), the value of two-dimensional gas chromatography high-resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GCxGC-HRTOFMS) to metabolomics, breathomics, and other -omics fields of study, are examined.
Bob Nelson and Chris Reddy [Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI)] discuss their laboratory's GCxGC process. Presented 19 September 2017.
